Tried a couple of Ernie Balls today... Wow!

Re: Tried a couple of Ernie Balls today... Wow!

Spoke with Sweetwater earlier this week and it still looks like the middle of April before delivery.

Have been very impressed with several I have played as of late. Really like the feel of the necks + that smooth glassy feel of SS frets. Still prefer my Carvin Kiesels but thought hard about snagging 2 in particular. Very impressed with the EB guitars!

They are really nice guitars, played a few my only issue with them is they feel tiny. They have small bodies, Im 6'4" and it feels like Im playing a ukulele. Feels like Im hunched around them. Had a room mate years ago who had a Silhouette and Ive picked up a couple EVHs which were based on the original EB bodies and hated how tiny they felt.

Well being 6’4” I am thinking most guitars would feel little to you:lmao:

Ive never picked up any other guitar that felt small. LPs, strats, my Iceman def doesnt feel small but for some reason, those feel time. I remember seeing a band play years ago and the singer/guitarist had an EB and he was about my size height wise, bit heavier than I and it almost disappeared on him.

The necks are very narrow and rounded. That definitely doesn't help either.

my silhouette's body is the same size as my Gibson SG...the scale length on the neck is the same 26" as my Strat...the only thin is that the Silhouette has the neck further down into the body so it is ~ 3" shorter overall...don't see how that would make it seem tiny...

Re: Tried a couple of Ernie Balls today... Wow!

26" im sure you mean 25.5". setting the neck further into the body does make it feel smaller, i built a teleish guitar that way and it does feel smaller

Re: Tried a couple of Ernie Balls today... Wow!

I think that's why I love my Ernie Ball guitars. I am not tall (5'7") with pretty small hands. Strats sometimes feel too big. A 'cut down' Strat shape is my ideal.
