Hi all,
I tried out 3 different 4x12 cabinets with Marshall DSL head (all EQ knobs at 5) and a MusicMan Petrucci model at guitar center today. The cabinets are Marshall 1960 Lead, B52 (the more expensive one without the metal grill), and Mesa Rectifier Cabinet. All of them are the slant angled ones.
I like the Marshall one best, but the bass response is a bit loose. The Mesa cab is very good, but it costs $899 and it seems that the mid frequency is held back juuuust a little bit. The B52 lacks punch and bass.
The Marshall cab costs $649. Is this worth it? I read on HC reviews that some people choose Behringer BG412S over the Marshall cab, and it only costs $250. They said that the Behringer cab is punchier and more open.
By the way, I'm going to use the cab with TriAxis + VHT 2502 setup. That's right, for those of you who remembered my thread, I decided to get the VHT, instead of 2:90.
