There is one of these on display at my local Fender dealership. I feel no urge to try it. Neither, according to the retailer, does anyone else in the vicinity.

I like it from a "So everyone hates the Tele neck pickup, huh? Well, fine. Have this!" perspective, but with the stock wiring I would certainly miss the bridge+neck combo that is half the reason I pick up a Tele anyway.

For several years now, somebody with Photoshop has been playing mix 'n' match with familiar Fender shapes and hardware. The permutations that look as if they ought to sound interesting are "liked" on Interweb social media. Fender then builds some and calls it a limited edition short run or something.

Ordered! I'm excited, when this was first announced last year I was under the impression it was going to be a $2000 custom shop model so I was pondering making one out of a MIM anyway. I personally dislike the Strato-teles, because that middle pickup tends to be a bit weak and doesn't pair well with a Tele neck, but this chnages all that. What I also love is fat middle pickups, the middle position is going to be killer. I'll also add a B+N push pull, IMO a fat neck and bridge pickup make for a rich sounding B+N tone, the kind of tone you usually only get with an HH type guitar.

I'd like to see G&L produce a similar idea in their Tribute Series. ASAT Classic B + N pickups with a big ol' MFD in the centre.
For the ultimate, fantasy, three pickups of a kind in a T style body guitar, it would have to be TV Jones 'Trons of some description.
