Triple Rectifier in a Box?

Re: Triple Rectifier in a Box?

the Dr. Boogey preamp pedal that you make yourself. Someone might sell you an assembled version.

Re: Triple Rectifier in a Box?

rocktron's got a rectifier pedal, but let's face it - any rectifier pedal is just a name. if you just want insane gain, just get like two distortion pedals or a distortion and an OD and use 2 at once. go nuts.

cool. I always wanted to try it myself, but haven't been able to as of yet. Perhaps Rocktron nailed the rectifier sound, who knows!

Re: Triple Rectifier in a Box?

Check the clips of the Monte Allums Recto Mod for the Boss DS-1 on his site. I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but I have one and like it. DS-1 are dirt cheap on eBay, the kit is not expensive, and it's easy to install, provided you don't option it up with all the extra switches.

Umm crap... Hold on...

Mesa makes a tube pre...ummm

There's this one but it's not what I'm thinking of...maybe they don't make it anymore..

Oh here it is!!!

The V-twin!

Mesa V-twin will get you there definitely...not cheaply, but it will do the job as well if not significantly better.

Re: Triple Rectifier in a Box?

should it sound even better thru a tube?

I've found that a nice clean-to-slightly dirty tube amp often makes some of my favorite OD pedals sound great. But a SS amp through the clean channel (or possibly through the hotter channel, but with the gain on the amp way down) would work with it too.

Re: Triple Rectifier in a Box?

I've head nice clips of the zvex "box of metal"... pretty brutal, but kinda pricey.

I really like my V-twin through a good tube amp...

Maybe a modded MT-2 (Try indyguitarist) if you want cheaper side of things or the above suggestions.

i have ALWAYS wanted to try a V-twin!!! i wonder how much they run used!?

Re: Triple Rectifier in a Box?

99-200 theres one on ebay thats still sealed in the box for 600
That's quite cheap (99-200) 'cause I used to see them go for much more than that (more in the 300-almost 400 range). I bought mine used at a flea market and had a chance to do a quick check on ebay a few minutes before. Amongst the last 5 or 6 that sold that week, none were below 370$... prices may have dropped but I would still consider 200 a bargain.

Hoss: they're very nice, although they can tend to sound a little fizzy with too much gain (but again, so does a rectifier right?)
