Hah, that's just a picture I found through a google search.

If I'm going to recommend a piece I use regularly, it would be this:

I love this box. Bought it from a member here a few years ago having never played one...I just knew I generally liked the Tech-21 stuff and having three Sans-Amps in one box seemed like the ticket for me. Three presets with their own (active, IIRC) EQs means I've been able to dial in my clean tone with the box bypassed and don't have to worry about tweaking my presets. The design is incredibly intuitive. Mine is a little sticky in the footswitching (just so far as assigning/saving presets) but it's never been a problem in performance.

The V-Twin or the other tube pre posted are good options. MF is listing the Tri-AC at $189...they're going on the 'bay for about $150 or so it looks like; I figured the price drop would be greater.

It's another one to check out, especially if you also would be after a Marshall/Vox or Fender sounds.

Re: Triple Rectifier in a Box?

I'm not saying the Twin Tube Mayhem is a Rectifier in a box, because nothing is. But it's worth a try. The Triple Rec in our sound room was often used as a benchmark. I will say this, however, that the Mesa V-Twin (which I've owned) does not do the Mesa Rectifier "Modern" hgh gain tone well at all. It would be a dissappointment if you like Rectos for metal. If you like them for alterna-grunge or blues, then the V-Twin is your pedal.

Re: Triple Rectifier in a Box?

I've got to agree with Frank, I had a V-Twin pedal back in the day (cost a fortune even back then) and it wasn't the firebreathing dual rectro head in a box they made it out to be. Wasn't a bad sounding pre, but it didn't give the high gain recto sound like a dual or triple head.

Re: Triple Rectifier in a Box?

i think im still goin' with the Rocktron, buit itll be down to sittin down and really playing them in-person. you knowz

BTW These aren't my cats, I just thought they were funny and scarey looking. I think they are called Hairless Sphinx or something like that.

Re: Triple Rectifier in a Box?

I have the RockTron Zombie, which is an awesome super-heavy distortion, but I like the Boss Mega Distortion better. The gain on the MD-2 can be pushed pretty high, but it can be eased back a lot more than the Zombie.

Have you ever tried the Metal Muff ?

It impressed me soo much, i am thinking of grtting one, for when ever those hi-gain moments come over me !
With such a pedal & a good EQ after it, i am sure you can get into some sort of Trip Rec. ball-park !

Do a youtube, and listen to the better quality clips !
