Triple shot,pickup and wiring questions

Hi there,

I want to rip out my burstbucker pro's from my 2004 Gibson Les Paul standard faded (mahogany body and neck with rosewood fretboard) because I find them to "middy" and muddy (a bit muffeling my sound).

I'm considering to get a shpg-1 or a sh-1 4c in the neck and a TB-12 or TB-14 as bridge. All 4c cable offcourse. Also I want to use it with a set of tripleshots.

My questions are these:

1. Will a trembucker fit in the tripleshot set (the standard LP set that is as I need the high bridge in my Les Paul)

2. Does anyone have a wiring scheme to add phase shift and putting both pickups in series/parallel with each other (not with them selfs as the tripleshot does that)? Standard pase **** I can do but I don't know how to add the series/parallel. I am considering to add two push pulls tonepots to do this.

3. Which of the pickups do you recommend for me. The TB-12 or the TB-14, SHPG-1 or SH-1. I play mostly classic rock and some hard rock. I'm a big Thin Lizzy/Gary Moore fan. I don't want to go too trebly so that is why I'm in doubt about the TB-14.

Thanks in advance for any advise!

Re: Triple shot, pickup and wiring questions

1: the first answer is yeas
here is a flat set on my TB-4 in the bridge and SH-2 neck

2: the second answer is yeas
but you will need a pair of push pulls to do it
I did it on the above RG but with a 5way-4pole superswitch
the thread is here sound clips and all

3: while this would be a matter of preference, most folks find the 59 (SH-1)
boomy in the neck
but I have had no experience with either pickups you have mentioned
so we'll have to let someone else weigh in on that

you do have the stock LP 3 way switch, right
give me a bit to find you a diagram for the series/phase thing

EDIT
you wont be able to use covered trembuckers in the Tripleshots

Re: Triple shot, pickup and wiring questions

Thanks so much on your reply. I overlook the triple shot in the wiring diagram section. Do you have some more sound samples with distoriot perhaps and a little longer?

Re: Triple shot, pickup and wiring questions

Little bump this side..

Anyone used this diagram? The series switch only works in middle position right?

Re: Triple shot, pickup and wiring questions

yea
if you dont have a second pickup the series/parallel is moot

Re: Triple shot, pickup and wiring questions

Great thanks :) Just battling to figure out the series push pull there, was thinking that it might be activated in any position.

Keen to try this out with P-Rails :D

Re: Triple shot, pickup and wiring questions

Can't go wrong with the Pearly Gates.

The P-Rails is also a good choice for classic rock, especially with the use of the P-90.

Both work great in the Triple Shot rings.
