Trivium type tone.

What SD pups would give me the closest tone to Matt Heafy of Trivium in my Elitist Epi Les Paul Custom? My amp is a Marshall JTM60 and I don't want active pups.

Re: Trivium type tone.

The artists section on the SD website doesn't list Heafy, but does say that Corey uses a JB, 59n, and Jazz(n).

Not to sound blunt, but pickups are for tone shaping. The first thing you need to make sure is that you've got the right amp for the job.

True, you can use the same pickups all you want, but without an amp that can pull off the tones they're getting the pickup won't get you that close.

Yeah heafey's got the zakk set in his LP (although they're switching what kind of guitars they use around) and Corey uses stock Jacksons.
