Troubleshooting Phat Cat wiring

Re: Troubleshooting Phat Cat wiring

The first thing to check is to make certain that the ground of the bridge volume pot is connected. Losing the ground will cause that symptom. Its not uncommon to make a connection to the back of the pot, but then to forget to take that connection to an actual ground. The sleeve of the output jack is the main one.

That was the problem - I used solder lugs over the pot posts for all soldering except the braded wire and the volume pot lugs that get grounded. They are kind of hidden underneath the pots and one of the wires came loose under the bridge tone pot. It was only my second wiring job so I am not surprised that something went wrong. Just glad it was something simple. Thanks for your help!
