TS-808 & MXR DynaComp combination

My next investment will probably be a new amp...a Marshall Bluesbreaker RI. My rig now: Telecaster --> JH1 Wahwah --> TS-808 --> Marshall AVT100.

I'm trying to hold back on effectboxes. 'Cause I think that the less of them the better. But I'm still kind of interested in linking a MXR Dyna Comp to TS-808.

I've read about all reviews i've found about it. Some people described it too noisy others said it was less noisy than they expected and so on. How about the combination with the overdrive tone from the ts-808. Could they work well together or would they be bad pair. and how about a Dyna Comp and the Bluesbreaker RI.
What do you guys think?
Have anyone ever tried some of the above presented settings?

And my second question...Is there some other pedal that you guys think that would be a better buy. I was thinking about getting another OD, Dist or Fuzz. But realized that that would just have been a waste of money since I don't need anymore distortion to my sound right now. I know this is a matter of taste, but anyway.

So now i'm just curious about other peoples thoughts, suggestions and inspiring ideas in my lonely search for the perfect tone? ;) :D

Re: TS-808 & MXR DynaComp combination

well I will start by saying that I have never played a tele into an 808 with a dyna comp into a BB ri, but I have used all of that gear...just not together. A Marshall 1962 (Bluesbreaker) has a fair amount of compression as it is, ALL tubescreamers have a pretty stout compression circut, and I have a feeling that just that alone would be lots of compression (this is the reason I do not like Tubescreamers...they are mega compressed) add to that an outboard compressor and i have a big feeling it is gonna be overkill...just my $.02.

good luck

Re: TS-808 & MXR DynaComp combination

Iv'e tried my tele and 808 with a Bluesbreaker RI and was very very impressed by the sound.

I forgot to write about another option that I was thinking about...and that would be: That I don't buy a third pedal to my chain...

Less is more...that's still what I'm trying to achieve in the end;)

But keep your suggestions coming, it's always interesting to consider and discuss different alternatives:)

Im sure that was a killer tone, I just think that adding more compression to that might not be real good...also in a situation where you are pushing the amp it will start to compress even more.

The Visual Sound Route 66 IS a TS808 and MXR Dynacomp, all in one pedal. I have one and love it, definitely look into it.
