I was thinking if you had a multimeter you could at least check for continuity through the circuits and find the components that are shorted. But I may be oversimplifying.
Well, it so happens that I do.

have you opened the pedal up? it might be a really glaring obvious thing wrong, a burnt component or a wire hanging loose?

Yean, I opened it up. Nothing obvious.

Power supply diode? The light still comes on when I turn it on...
