Let me mod your TS9DX and you'll be in love with it...The mods I do to the TS9 mode make the whole pedal much better...I replace the opamp,beef up your lows,and improve the overall pedal,plus you have more tonal options with that pedal than you do with the TS9 or the 808...Would you trust me on this one? PM me for any furthers...I'm on my way out,but later I'll give you the specifics on the TS9 vs the 808...Later brother....Read my reviews also..I need to pay this Vox amp off that I bought....LOL :laugh2:

John modded my TS9DX a few months ago.
Before I got it I wasn't wild about it at all. It was a solid week from hitting eBay and he convinced me to give it a try.
Very cool results from it. It's alot more versatile tonally. It covers a much greater range of sounds, and does so alot better than the original version. It really turned it into a keeper of a pedal and really amde it a great tool for alot of different sounds.

Thanks for posting brother and glad you like your TS9DX....I've done several of these,but I can't(For the life of me) remember all the ones I've done them for? Getting old.....LOL

Let's be fair....you're pretty much the next stop for alot of folks on here after they get their pedals home for the first time and give them a solid hour of playtime! And for good reason....as myself and more than a couple other folks will attest to.
Actually I'm having a really cool time between the TS9DX you modded, a Bad Monkey and a totally stock TS-9 Reissue. Maybe it's my ears maturing some but all three of them have very different sounds to them and I'm really enjoying finding which pedal is the right tool for the right job.
Used together they do well complimenting each other tonally without going over the top, something I'm trying to avoid as I get older!

i love my Spina 808 modded Ts9 reissue!( darkness added w/ a bit more gain and big orange capacitors replace the little cheap looking ones, and a slick 8 pin adaptor w/ JRC4558 chip!) For cents on the dollar i can give other 8 pin chips a spin thanks to that versatile 8 pin socket john added. I'm curious about trying the RC4558 chip i think it is, the one that lew likes, since it's a bit more articulate and not as dark sounding as the JRC. The tone is very sweet with my strat and bandmaster, i usually set it so there's no "grind" in the distortion, just smooth sustaining type leads.
With my bridge pickup, TS9 drive at 5, tone at 7, level at 6 i get a very classic sounding rock tone to die for when throwing down chords or triads on EBG strings. I especially enjoy lightly pinching two note chords on the pentatonic scale with this setup, incredibly distinct tone. I can't get enough of it, and every time i jam with the band i find new slick tones that are changeable with a quick roll of the knobs or a switch of the pickups.
