Or Hay-soos... for that matter

It's a cracked top. On an electric. Just glue it back in.

Response from the airline!
“Thank you for your message in connection with the damage of your guitar.

I understand your disappointment and apologize for the inconvenience you had as a result.

Please have your guitar repaired in the shop of your choice and send me the repair bill.

Should your guitar be beyond repair, please have this confirmed in writing by the shop. This confirmation should state its purchase date and price. Based on this information, we will proceed with the reimbursement of its actual value, i.e. apply a depreciation of 10% per year.

In order to be able to process the payment, if possible, please provide me with following information:

Name and address of the account holder
Name and address of the bank
Account number
Sort code

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely”

Depreciation % per year??? On a guitar?

Wth... wonder what they'd say if you called them out on losing a wedding ring... "well, ok, we can see it cost $3k, but with 10% per year depreciation, and you being married for 9 years 9 months, here's $75 thank you come again"

Re: TSA/United/Swiss airlines guitar damage

The guitar is a Mike Mushok model from 2006. How much does a ticket for air travel across the Atlantic? A thousand bucks? So, extra seat is definitely not worth it.

My most recent ticket was 400 bucks but that was booked 6 months in advance on leaves on Christmas Eve
