Can you guys give your opinions on both amps, if one is better than other and such. I tested both at Sam Ash today, but the tsl sounded crackly and I think he needed new tubes or something, even at that I found the cleans to be dominant over the 5150 combo.

Thanks for feed back in advance.

The TSL will be better for cleans and a more versatile sound, the 5150 will be better for a balls out metal sound.

That pretty much sums it up. Although, I will say that after 5 years of tweaking around with my 5150 Combo, I've found some decent clean tones. However, those were with guitars with low or medium output pups. That said, the 5150 Combo is one of my favorite *rock* amps.

i was stuck trying to decide between these amps about a year and a half ago. i went with a XXX :) that probably doesnt help you, eh? id go with the 5150 personally

Re: TSL 602 and the 5150 combo

I just got a TSL 601 which is the 1x12 version of the 602 and its definitly a good amp. The clean channel is awesome (not fender good but close) and the crunch/lead channels are pretty good as well.

Very useful if you play different styles of music. Don't have any experience with the 5150's but if you play hard rock/metal the 5150 is a better bet.
