Re: TSL 602 vs. 122
i wish it was only a few $$$, or i would already have the JVM. the JVM is like $2000. i do have a mesa 5:50 and it's great, but just a little thin for my tastes. although its tone is super impressive, i need some thick and heavy grit. the 602 i had was very good, but a little spongy. i was thinking the 122 might offer a little better tone because of the extra 2 el34s and upgraded speakers, but then again i've heard on several reviews that the 602 is better than the 122.
if i do decide to take hte mesa back (which would ONLY be because i'm stuck on that classic marshall crunch and absoluty NO other reason because the thing is so amazing), i'll probably go back with the tsl.
i have had the dsl401 and it was good, but not great. that's probably because it just bugged the hell out of me that the price was SOOOOO heavy. i always thought it was about $300-400 overpriced. i actually thought the 602definitely sounded better despite some other opinions.
by the way, do you have any sound samples you can post?
