Tube Screamer Times two

Do you guys run two TubeScreamers in series or whatever fuzz box to get the really cool overdrive stuff? Did SRV use multiple TubeScreamers? or do you just send the one you have to stratdeluxer?

I've heard that Peter Hayes from BRMC runs his Gibson 335 through FOUR on its way to a Fender '65 valve amp.... Although his sound is VERY different to SRV!

LOL.....My modded TS9s don't sound like 2 TS9s in series.... :laugh2:

lots of people use 2 tubescreamers at the same time...one for pure crunch, one as a booster. And YES Peter Hayes does have 4 tubescreamers, and YES sometimes all 4 are on!

has anybody ever used pedals...in parallel?????

there would be more current in that circuit, and less resistance. what would this equate to tone wise?

I have an 808 and a TS5 on my pedal board....One is set for higher drive settings and one is set as a clean boost...

I have a TS-10 that I performed the "808 mod" on. It seems to sort of suck tone and volume (though it sounds sweet when engaged) since I did the modification. Is this normal?

If I get two of the TS7's, which are $40 each online and run them together will that work well? Or do you need the real deal TS9 or 808?

I run 2 TS9's. The first I run the Drive and Level at about 2 O'clock and the tone at 10 O'clock. The second...all three knobs at 12 O'clock. Three cool sounds right at my feet. They are close enough that I can stomp 'em both at the same time if I have to.

Dude, get two bad monkeys from GC for $29 each. They sound terrific and you can set one up for gain and one for boost. They sounded terrific through my little Classic 30 last night at practice!!

But, the nearest GC is 100 miles away! So 200 miles round trip at 30 mpg, will cost me $13 bucks gas. $58 plus tax plus $13 gas. Two TS-7's are $78 plus shipping. Plus, the driving time that I'll save. Hmmm. maybe the local guitar shop has the Bad monkey for a decent price. I'll call.

The Bad Monkeys are phenomenal pedals for the money. I'd put them easily in the same league as the TS-9 Reissues.

From the reviews I've seen Bad Monkeys are love or hate. I haven't tried them, perhaps I'll compare sound bites to the tube screamer.....

They both sound good, but the TS and BM produce different sounds. Maybe one of each and split the diff! That would be good, don't ya think?

I've thought about buying one of the "Bad Monkey" Dude pedals to see how I can bring it to a much higher tonal level? I've heard only good about the pedal so far..

Hey man, GC will ship too. I just got mine shipped from a Columbus GC and I have had a Cincinnati GC ship stuff too....oh, and a Cleveland GC shipped a frickin' Marshall BX cab to my door for $365!! Can't hurt to call and ask.

Maybe it doesn't matter but the Bad Monkey sound seems more appropriate for dual coil pickups, and the Tube Screamer for single coils? Maybe the sound clips make me think that.

I'll bet they'll both sound equally but differently good with my strat.

As an aside: Do strat and LP guys have different directions on which fuzz/distortion pedals they typically use. Do more strat guys use the TS and LP guys lean towards the BM? yes, this is a broad generalization and it depends on sonic preferences.
