Hi All,

Thanks for reading this post. I just ordered the new Vox AD15VT. This will be my first tube or semi-tube amp. I have no knowledge of tube amps. I have read where the amp uses the two sides of the Sovtek tube independently for both preamp and power sections.

I have also read that the Sovteks are not the best tubes to use. I have heard of (JJ) 12ax7s and the kt66hp tubes. I am looking for the smooth jazz tone with a warm bottom sound.

Any suggests or thoughts would be appreciated.

Sovteks are good, but not the only tubes out there. The Sovtek 12ax7LPS is a great tube, and you might want to check that one out. The Groove Tubes 12ax7M is a faithful repro of the original Mullard design (British-made, and noted for superior tones throught the 1960's and '70's), and is worth the $$$. I use both, and can vouch for their performance. What kind of power tubes does the amp have?
