Sorry if this topic has been discussed in the past, I'm new here....

Buzz Feiten Tuning System
Anyone here have any experience with this tuning system? It looks like a compensated nut tuning system like the Earvana (these are all new to me).
I called a local guitar repair shop to get a quote for a setup for my Strat and he mentioned that he installs the Buzz Feiten system. It sounds like a good thing but costs over twice as much as a basic guitar setup.
Is it worth the extra investment ?

Thanks.

Re: Tuning Systems

Firstly, there are already threads on this topic. Use the forum search engine. You will find plenty of opinions on both sides of the argument.

How much you want to spend on this is entirely up to you. The main questions revolve around;
1) Do you regularly play with keyboardists?
2) How sensitive are your ears to pitch?

I own one guitar with an Earvana stepped/compensated nut. A luthier in my area has allowed me to check out several guitars with this feature. In my opinion, this system seems better intonated than traditional electric guitars.

To put my comments in context, I frequently play fretless bass and three saddle Telecasters. I am accustomed to listening for and making continual minor pitch corrections. It has become part of my playing style.
