DSLs really give up the goods with a nice set of tubes and cranked up to the point where they can breathe. Unfortunately that also happens to be louder than most places will let you play and they just lose all their guts if the volume is under 10'o clock or so. Such is the way of the beast.
Power attenuators do help and can satisfy but it's still not the same as really movin' some air around.
