Turning a White pickup Cream??

Does anybody know of any ways to turn a white Duncan humbucker cream so that it matches the cream coil on a Zebra Duncan humbucker?

Thank you all very much in advance for your help. :burnout:

Re: Turning a White pickup Cream??

Would that be a certain Pearly Gates p/u?

If so, it's aged to a more off white/vintage white & might be a good match! :13:

Paging Dr. Dutnut, Dr. Butnut you have a Call on line 5.

I remember something about tea or strong coffee.... I think Butnut mentioned something about it....

+1. Coffee will do it.

Re: Turning a White pickup Cream??

Nah, you're better off trading it for a cream or zebra pickup. Otherwise, you'll either ruin your pickup, or end up with an odd shade of brown or yellow.

Re: Turning a White pickup Cream??

Clean the plastic with naptha (lighter fluid) using a Qtip, don't need to soak it. Wipe dry and using a Qtip, rub Kiwi brown shoe polish on. Make it look even colored. Wait a minute and softly wipe off the polish with a soft rag. Too light, repeat Kiwi and let it sit longer. It's fine as long as your fingers don't touch it while playing, should be OK for HB's...on my JV Strat, the neck and mid pup has some color coming off near the edge where my fingers hit...the bridge pup did not hold the color and looked different...Donzo hooked me up with a non-lettered Lace and it's all good now.

Yep, that's the one.

The reason I ask is because I want it to match or at least get close to the zebra Pearly that's in the neck of my LP.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. I think I'll try the Kiwi trick, and if it doesn't quite work, I'll just put them under nickel covers.

the Kiwi trick? -Trust me, I've tried smearing myself all over pickup covers, and I've noticed no permanent colour change.
