Ok, then what are the differences tone-wise between the 60's Blackface Champ with a fixed tone stack/600 Reissue and the 5F1? How does the 600 sound/respond differently to the 5F1?The 600 Reissue circuit is the same as the 60's Blackface Champ but with a fixed tone stack. It is nothing like the 50's 5F1 Champ in circuit design or sound. The Tweedle Dee mod tightens up the bass and provides a smoother transition from clean to overdrive with less raspiness in the overdrive.
I wanted to hear someone's direct experience based on in-the-room experience, not hype click-bait videos that have been processed in unknown ways, but ok, thanks.A Blackface Champ (all Blackface Fender amps actually) are very mid-scooped. A Tweed amp is more mid-focused. A 5F1 Champ is actually pretty flat in it's frequency response from bass to treble.
I suggest you search YouTube for videos of the 5F1 and Champion 600 Reissue. There are plenty out there.
I can't get any real-world volume comparisons on YouTube, friend.Louder than you think a 5 watt amp could ever be.
YouTube is your friend.
Cool.See my response to beaubrummels, post #19.
If neither of you can understand the impact of two different circuit designs on the sound of an amp, there is nothing I can do to help you so I won't waste anymore of my time trying.
