I've been working on a design for the bridge and as it turns out there's already a solution to my problem. The problem is this. On most twelve string bridges six of the strings enter from the rear of the bridge, and the other six enter from the back of the guitar through string ferrells. The issue is the existence of a tremolo cavity on the donor guitar. I think you can see why this would create an area of discrepancy. To solve this I have found an existing bridge, similar to an old esquier bridge, that should be relatively easy to make myself. That should save some cash as well as work along the road.

This second bridge is the original bridge the neck would have come with. I could probably make my bridge look similar

Another option for the bridge could be to take a piece of wood the size of the cavity and stick it in with some wood filler. Then sand it down, and finish, or take the easy road and put the backplate over it.

actually that's what I'm doing anyways! it's just that all twelve of the string ball ends coming through the back of the bridge is easier to keep track of than six through the back of the guitar. i dislike string ferrules. either way i will be blocking the tremolo cavity and putting the back plate back on.

Make sure you take quite a few pictures and post them up so we can see the whole process. It should look good.:cool2:

Ok so long an mcquade should be getting the twelve string gotoh bridge and a twelve string nut into their store in the next couple of weeks. Then the building can commence
