Boogeyman of Tone
either huge riff, double tracked rhythm or song 1

just asking which tone you'd rather hear.. im looking for my "heavy" rhythm sound for standing in motion, we'll hopefully have our first full demo done by the end of summer.

song 1 - no title... is the tone thats closest to the one i have on my flex atm, i think it might be a bit too thin though.

ok i know its not 100% fair as the huge riff has an acoustic in the bg.. but there is a section which is purely guitar.

the pieces are different also :smack: i dont have my gordon smith (its bust still) so i cant record each again with the other sound.

play these loud btw, cubase seems to like making my tracks quiet :(

Re: Two huge sounding riffs - which tone do you prefer?

you know what man, i'll check them out in about 5-10 minutes. im trying to load songs to soundclick and it'd be really slow. but i'll check them out as soon as possible :)

Re: Two huge sounding riffs - which tone do you prefer?

thanks :)

the 2 new ones are small anyway , less than 500 k - i just cut them that small so people could download them faster :D

Re: Two huge sounding riffs - which tone do you prefer?

i personally like the double tracked rhythm...but followed closely by huge riff...

Re: Two huge sounding riffs - which tone do you prefer?

i really need better names for these tracks dont i

Re: Two huge sounding riffs - which tone do you prefer?

maybe eventually...but it works for now.

Re: Two huge sounding riffs - which tone do you prefer?

All sound good, but the tone of the double tracked one stood out for me.

Re: Two huge sounding riffs - which tone do you prefer?

could you give reasons why?

i want a sickass tone for this demo.. just to prove a point you dont need to spend thousands to get a good sound :)

Re: Two huge sounding riffs - which tone do you prefer?

Well, Huge is my favorite, powerful and crunchy. Soldano is a little 80s to my hear, a little outdated, maybe. But then again, this is just another opinion, we all have one :)

Although we all have fun replicating it once in a while, the 80s sound is "out"... IMO of course. I think that the 70s sound is more "in" nowadays.

Choose what you want, you have enough talent to be a trend-setter my friend :notworthy

I like the double tracked rhythm the most. The others have more of a solid state distortion tone. I like the riff more also.

Re: Two huge sounding riffs - which tone do you prefer?

I liked double tracked also. When you double riffs you get a cool effect that I have always liked. I usually double track all of my chording on heavy parts. The acoustics on Song 1 sounded great. I think you need to expand on those ideas a little more.

i like double tracked...

but this is a bit off topic..but i really liked your solo on open strings...i keep listening to that whenever i go into your soundclick page

Re: Two huge sounding riffs - which tone do you prefer?

thanks guys :)

my only concern with the tones is clarity, i think the best clarity is from Song 1 (a marshall model i think). I think that tone sounded the thinnest though so im not sure

From my memory, the other two clips were the soldano model with different cabs... they sound a lot fuller to my ears but dont have the same clarity
