Type of wire to use?

Hi again people,

As some of you may have established, I'm an absolute beginner. I'm installing a new Seymour Duncan in one of my old guitars, and completely rewiring it in the process. And I'm doing this all for the first time. So I need a little help :)

Bascially - I don't have the slightest clue as to what wire to use. I dont know what gauge I should be looking for, what type of wire, anything! Also, do I need to use different wire for the grounding connections?

I'm in the UK, so I don't know if our wire gauges are different to USA gauges, so that may be an issue. But any help you can give me - and i'm sure most of you know this stuff off the top of your heads! - would be GREATLY appreciated. I don't have a clue!

For reference, the setup I'm going to install is a simple:

SD Invader -> 500k Volume Pot -> Output jack

No tone controls or any other pickups are involved.

Thanks!

Re: Type of wire to use?

stranded wire, 20-24 ga

most of the newer stuff will be Teflon coated

the vintage style stuff is a little easier to use, but I don't know where to find it in the UK .... likely somewhere, though
