Uh oh... look what I did

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

That was just plain awesome! The harmonies were really good, and the harmonized solo sounded sick! The rhythm interplay between the guitar and the drums is just great, the changing rhythms are cool, and the tone is really good also! Overall, a really good track, listening to your other stuff on there now, really liking it.

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

I would love for you guys to be able to find a torche/baroness/high on fire type vocalist for on this stuff. I love it instrumental, but a bit of brutal vocal delivery would make it even better I reckon.

Still, love the tunes.

Wow!

What a great response to this song! Thanks so much, guys. I really appreciate all the kind words - they mean more to me than you know.

I'm actually laid up pretty hard with the Flu and haven't been able to get online much, but I wanted to check in on the forum and found this! Very nice.

That sounds great. So extremely heavy. Most people would never expect a semi hollow to get a tone anything like that.

Yeah, I enjoy using the "wrong" equipment sometimes. Truthfully, the ES-137 lends itself to those tones very well. Might be the 498T in the bridge.

Very tight and creative Adam...you guys get better and better every song!I think the sound is a tad dark....Maybe "widen" it on izotope could help!

I dig the Harmonies alot...

Thanks! I tend to mix everything a little dark. This is because I don't really know what I'm doing!

I am impressed. I would never have guessed that was a POD. Maybe my sinuses haven't cleared up yet because my ears can usually detect the POD tone. You really dialed that thing in well. Great job.

Lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of tweaking. :D

The secret of my POD tone is to use the condenser mic thing, with the greenback cabinet, and a bit of a mid hump from the EQ.

yeah, we're experimenting more and more with some vocals, kind of Matt Pike meets Isis, and I think there will be much more singing on the full-length.

I know the issue too - we're not like your typical "instrumental" band. There are some leads and stuff, but mostly we're just playing riffs. We're writing and playing as if there WAS singing, but there just isn't any.

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

Hey man, this is some really good stuff! I enjoyed the whole song a lot. Must've been fun to record, I take it.

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

Oh yeah, I added you on MyStalker too. So I can look at your pretty faces whenever I want.

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

I don't know if I'm the first to mention this, but I noticed all of your song titles are references to the playstation game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I noticed cause its one of my favorite games of all time. Was it you that named the songs or someone else?

:D

Guilty, I'm afraid.

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

That's awesome, it's relieving to know I'm not the only one who thinks that game is amazing. Also the music in the game is pretty cool and I was wondering if it inspired any of your own music? You should cover one of the songs from the soundtrack :D Great playing too by the way, keep rocking.

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

D'OH!!!!

Sorry Keith! Shoot.

We're tracking another one tonight, so I'll be in prime position to drop them on a USB drive fo's ya.

I swear I'm not this big of a flake all the time.

Actually that's total bull****. I totally am.

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

I can! I'm a total pro at crap-taking. You should have seen the one I took today. WHOO BOY.

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

Wow, I have no idea how I nearly missed hearing this. Great work, my fav out of what you have on myspace.

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

Nice work. Love the tone.
Pods are awesome--but you have no hair left when you finally get it right.

What amp model is it?

Re: Uh oh... look what I did

Thank you, guys. I can't believe this thread is still going! I guess we need to keep writing thrashier stuff.

Amp models are as follows:

Main rhythms - boosted Marshall Plexi and Uberschall patches
Verse overdubs - non-boosted Plexi and Orange AD30 patches + fuzz (in background)
Leads - boosted Recto model, surprisingly

aaaand I think there are some hiwatt models used in there too, but I don't recall where.
