ukulele and intonation

hi
i have a ukulele with an intonation which may be a problem

have you ever bought a ukulele with a bad intonation (12 fret/ harmonic/note all is different) ?

I think Ukuleles are pretty much in the key of X.

I'm sure the nicer $500+ Ukes intonate, but I can see cheaper ones presenting quite a challenge based on my extremely limited experience.

Ukes aren't precision instruments. Their physics are a compromise and they are just meant to produce sound.

first, change the strings because the factory strings were catastrophic
= a very bad tuning with a tuner

second, i check the tuning with a good tuner and new strings
it was ok but not perfect
ok ok

but third, i look at the intonation at 12th fret with a tuner

it was an horrible thing
all the fretted notes were higher than what they should be and it was not a cheaper ukulele

body : solid

i don't want a perfection but i think that intonation is very important
