There's an antigua Strat or two on this forum that I've always been quite fond of. I don't recall the owners or I'd PM them a wake up call and invite them to post them in all their 70's retro glory.

Looks like we're all in the running for second place... my Fender strat:

Not the greatest pic, but it's my mostly stock '03 Highway 1. My mods include a set of Fender Texas Specials (w/ black covers), 5-way superswitch, and (not pictured) a Wilkinson VSGV bridge. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure it's just as I bought it.

2003 American Standard Stratocaster. Mods: Duncan SH-11 Custom Custom bridge pickup, master volume, master tone (greasebucket, (I LIKE IT)), third pot is a spin-a-split for the sh 11, graphtech string saver saddles, trem setter

Why would anyone keep a Strat completely stock? It's almost as though Fender builds the guitars expecting them to be upgraded.:doh:

EVERY Strat I've played needed a pickup change. I've heard that the EJ Strat is great stock, but I have not had the opportunity to play one (Bill?).

I no longer own a Strat, not even LesStrat. I have a Parker Fly Deluxe that is loosely based on the Strat body-style.

LOL! This thread is not helping my Strat GAS. Hell why don't we throw a bunch of old Fender amps in there and fuel the fire while we're at it and push me overboard.

LMFAO at the comment that everyone is chasing for second place. In reality, that's probably the truth. IMO, wahwah has the coolest Strat on the board. BungalowBill has a cool Strat, and GearJoneser has a couple really cool reverse burst Strats I'd like to see in the running. The only "Strats" I have are SX models, so I won't be putting them in the running.

EVERY Strat I've played needed a pickup change. I've heard that the EJ Strat is great stock, but I have not had the opportunity to play one (Bill?)..

i keep mine stock because i need it to fill a niche in my tonal pallet (vintage-y single coil tone) ... if i needed more versatility (read 'ability to be beefy'), i'd have to do a pickup swap too

for me, it is perfect right out of the box .... it even comes with the 2nd tone knob on the bridge pickup, so i didnt even have to do that mod ... and the RWRP middle pickup gives me noiseless in 2 & 4 (where i play 90% of the time)

if/when i want a beefier strat, i'll look for a hotrod 62avri ... or maybe a prs 305

Is it too late to nominate one? If not I nominate thespricket's Antigua Strat. I thought there was another Antigua on here too, one with white pickups which looks even cooler IMHO, but I can't find it at the moment.
