You know the drill - 10 instruments enter, one leaves. Which Bass has the most mojo/coolness/looks/hawtness/GAS or whatever it is that makes you want to say "This is the ULTIMATE SDUG Bass!"

A few things strike me here:

#1 We are not fans of Fender. Lot's of basses, but few from Leo. Interesting.

#2 We also do not appear to be fans of the five string.

#3 That said - not a frickin' word about Jolly's 12 (count'em) string!

#4 We like the vintage old skool stuff.

Anyway - there we go - have at'em boys. Which is the ULTIMATE SDUG Bass?

The winner will join the top ten for the ultimate showdown.

As always - no losers. It was tough choosing - but there can be only 10!

Out of these I voted Ripper because they're awesome. My bro had an ebony with an ebony fretboard, dumbass traded it for a Mockingbird bass.. dumbass.

Is that a T60 pickup?

Tragedy of Life.

Bass Medic's Blue Rick would have been my number one choice, but he chose to go with the Tbird. The Jetglo made the shortlist, but at the end of the day, I couldn't put that in when every fiber of my being said Steve's Blue one was nicer. Thus Rick didn't make it.

As always - not that there was not any Rick love. Those are BOTH fantastic basses. I would have liked a Rick - but someone has to make the call, and I had to go for other things.

The Bossa came right down to the final selection. I was making the call between the Warrior, the Totem, and the 65 J.

I had to dig the wood on the Warrior and the Totem more, and then Golden Boys late entry showed up and I couldn't deny that old P. Sorry bro!

They're all cool, but Reggie's is definitely the vibe-y-est!

Cool bound HS, neck, & body, nice fretboard, those cool old pups/rings, antique-y finish, and of course the retro-space-age-looking control panel ...all add up to serious mojo!

Muhahahaha, that's awesome. I was thinking about putting the El Diablo I wasn't using in a bass with one of the duncan preamps wired up like 2 singles for my bro, I ended up using it though.

What does that sound like in a bass? Is it super dark?

It's crunchy with gain and super bright when clean, same as in a guitar. It's actually kind of fun. I recorded a mediocre song with it for last year's Dean member cd. It sounded cool. It's one of these two but it won't play on my phone and I can't remember:
