Unbelievable find!

Artie

Peaveyologist
Today was "clean out the garage" day. We've got boxes that haven't been opened in 10-15 years. We finally decided to go through everything and pitch the junk. Now keep in mind, whenever you go through old junk, everything has one thing in common: You either say, "I forgot I had one of those", or "I remember that."

I found something that fit neither of those catagories. In the bottom of a box that was mostly old car parts, (distributor, coil, etc.), and old motorcycle parts, (one coil-over shock, footpeg, etc.), laying all by itself . . .

. . . is a friggin reverse-zebra JB! :11: (Sticker says, JBJ)

This makes no sense. I didn't "discover" Seymour Duncan 'til last year. This box hasn't been opened in at least 10 years. Besides, the red and white were taped off, but not connected. This thing couldn't have worked for anyone. What was it doing just laying in the bottom of a box?

The things a bit dirty, and a little rust around the screws, but should clean up real nice. Its just one of those real weird things. ;)

Well, I'll keep that in mind. But I have a feeling that this will replace the Stag Mag in my Genny. ;)

Cool. PM me an address, and I'll get it right out. Shipping and "handling" shouldn't be much more than $70-$80 USD. :laugh2:

Re: Unbelievable find!

sweet find Artie.

If you decide you want to sell it please PM me.

or just enjoying your find yourself is cool too :)

Re: Unbelievable find!

Glad to see you got down to business and shifted that "junk"! Dude, wish i could make finds like that!

Re: Unbelievable find!

i know guy, managed to lose his tuner and multifx in his bedroom.. :laugh2:

Re: Unbelievable find!

Wouldn't it be kinda ironic if years ago u took it out of a gtr for something else.

The irony is, the tuner built-in to the J-Station is horrible. My motivation for cleaning the garage was to find two that I know are in a box somewhere. It was in looking for them, (which I didn't find), that I found the JB.

Re: Unbelievable find!

The other thing thats odd, is somone trimmed the little mounting tabs, where the screws go in, so that they are now, little sharp, triangles. I can't imagine any situation in a guitar where you'ld have that tight a fit for a humbucker.

Re: Unbelievable find!

I can Artie....sounds like what you have to do to mount it into a Wolfgang. Perhaps it's an old prototype that Eddie VanHalen left in your garage when you guys were jamming years ago?

Re: Unbelievable find!

Maybe he left me a little "token", for showing him how to do those hammer-ons. :laugh2:

btw - I think he stole my roll of electrical tape.

Wonder what he wanted that for. ;)

(Are you serious about the Wolfgang?)

Yeah....some of the guitars that use pups direct mounted to the wood have to have the legs shaped to fit in. The other guitar that comes to mind is Parker. Are the mounting holes stripped out?

Cool find none the less....I usually just find dead bugs when I clean boxes out!

Re: Unbelievable find!

I did the same thing today. I pulled everything out of my music room's closet, to get the roadcases and cabinets and stuff to my rehearsal studio. Then, I repacked the rest of the stuff more neatly. My score? I pulled my Bogner 2-12 cab out of it's roadcase platform, and realized I'd hidden nudie pics of my ex girlfriend there, to keep my current one from finding them. NICE! Great hiding place, too!

The screw holes aren't stripped out. Just the tabs trimmed. This thing cleaned up real nice, and I'm hoping to get it installed tonight or tomorrow, to see how it sounds.
