unfinished leather guitar straps

does anyone know how to fix the problem of an unfinished leather guitar strap pulling my shirt all over the place when I'm playing? is there some kind of oil or something you could put on it or something?
Thanks

Well... what i'd do, would be wrapping the underside (that sits on your shoulder) with transparent plastic foil ;).

Those straps work best for neck-heavy guitars that need to be anchored in place.

Get a nylon type. My favorites are the Dunlop nylon ones, with designs woven into it.

i'm with GJ...nylon is the best IMO. planet waves are nice as are the dunlop and levy's but i must say, my favorite strap i own is a red dimarzio nylon strap. for some reason it's just a nice comfy strap that is well made with nice ends and smooth nylon. i'd try some form of good quality nylon strap beofore you mess with the leather one.

There was a sign in my favorite music store:

"Straps made from dead cows are best."
