Univibe pedal

Re: Univibe pedal

I have a Univibe but prefer my NEO Ventilator it sounds just like a Leslie. The Univibe is in mothballs.

Re: Univibe pedal

The Fulltone Deja Vibe I used to own and it was awesome...These days the Univibe(when I need it) is built into both my Vox Tonelab LE and the Blue series Valvetronix Vox head..It says in the manual that the inventor of the Univibe, was the guy who incorporated the Univibe into these Vox units?

Re: Univibe pedal

I have a Mini Deja Vibe for a Univibe sound and it's alright. It gets the job done but it doesn't knock me out.

Lots of mentions for Leslie sims...completely different sound for me and I'd never use the 2 sounds interchangeably.

When I need Leslie sounds I use a H&K Rotosphere, and I do love that one!

I use one of these too. Incredible pedal. It has all of the features of the original in that tiny package, and Zvonch (the builder) even managed to incorporate two new controls via trimpots accessable from the side. It even works with a foot control, which a lot of nice vibe pedals don't have. It also has selectable input and output buffers and a jumper inside the pedal that will gradually increase the speed instead of real time when you use the external speed control.

T Rex Viper

Re: Univibe pedal

I have a univibe pedal that stays in the seldom used shoe box for pedals.

Univibe is a fancy pedal that is mixed-up between trying to be tremolo and leslie at the same time, with a little bit of flanger and chorus in the mix.
It’s only useful for a couple tunes.

I use a Fender Vibrotone driven by a Fender Bassman, when playing in larger clubs for extended periods.

Otherwise, Lex does quite well.

But, you really can not beat the real tone coming from a Leslie!

I also used to own a Foxrox Captain Coconut2, which has the ProVibe part in it which is a fantastic VIBE pedal, much better than the Fulltone stuff… But, I made a mistake and sold that pedal off.

Now, I GAS for the Foxrox Aquavibe

^^ Its not a univibe, but definitely try it before picking up the Univibe. The ramp/up slow/down feature is priceless.

Re: Univibe pedal

We're just relaying our experiences. Our opinion is as good as anyone else's.

If I had the choice between the Neo and a vibe at the time, I'd go Neo anyday.

+1 ^^^
My preferred vibe, hands down.

Re: Univibe pedal

I'll echo TGWIF's comment that vibe pedals and leslie simulators are very different pedals. Trying to use a vibe to emulate a Leslie cab isn't that close.

As much as I like vibe pedals, I really love the Strymon Lex rotary pedal. Vibe pedals have a cool under-watery sound, but rotary pedals take on a more organ-like sound.
