I really dig the Probucker 2 and 3 pickups in my Epi Les Paul Pro.
Moderate output, a chimy top end, thick mids and very reasonable bass that doesn't get boomy or overbearing at all. I've had two of these Les Pauls and this one just sounds great, bright and cutting.
Let's say I wanted to upgrade to Seymour Duncans, keeping these same basic qualities, just better. No deathbuckers.
What would you get? I never use the coil splits BTW.
I'd love to go crazy and drop an SH5 Custom in the bridge (got one in my Ibanez, love it) but I really wanna keep the output on the low side. It just works for my style, which is Hard Rock-ish. I tend go from clean to heavy dirt from the guitar's volume, I hate fiddling with pedals and patches while playing.
I might as well go with 50s wiring while I'm at it...
I'm guessing I'd have to go A2 Pro in the neck and no idea what in the bridge. What would you suggest?
