in terms of value it's a really good deal!

DSL100s and DSL50's are versatile amps as well, i'm not experienced enough with the sunn amp to say anything on sound though :)

hell, even if you spin it for the cash!

Hey Jerry,

I have to admit I love my DSL 100. It does just about everything I want. from super cleans to rip your face off high gain. It does everything pretty well. (I will take it over the JCM 900's anyday, which I have had a few of).

The only cons I have about it are these.

1. Clean channel crunch switch is not foot switchable from clean to crunch and has a HUGE volume increase. I take care of this though by using an OD or dist. pedal.

2. The EQ is a shared EQ and usually has to be adjusted between channels.

Other than that, it's one of the best sounding, most versatile amps I have played. And as I mentioned before, depending on what you are playing, pedals will make it everything you need.

Mine is a Silver Ed. which I think is just awesome looking because of the silver tolex and old style black and white checkerboard grill cloth.

I will get you some links to sound clips that should help you make a better decission if it's the amp for you or not.

thansk. I appreciate it. turns out the dorkwad lives in florida. He was trolling the San Antonio Craigslist forums. He wanted me to trust him and ship the amp.

Sunns are cooler than DSLs anyway man. Crank that monster up and rock out properly...

Day-um. I watched that 1st clip. I cant imagine needing anymore gain than that. Alto ive heard the amp doesnt have enough gain on tap for metal-heads. All other sounds are great. Cleans sound excellent-not exaclty Fender. Great amp! That ol bot demoing it is pretty great also.

Yeh, I keep hearing about how mediocre the JCM2000 series is but with that guy demoing he just makes that amp sound awesome. I guess he does have a nice guitar and chops for days.

I've played a DSL-50 head through a 1960 cab and it did sound quite nice for most rock and clean britsh tones but I just couldn't coax enough usable gain out of it to play metal with it. I've also played a DSL-401 combo and it just really mostly sucked. Never played a DSL-100 head before but that video just makes me kind of reconsider taking an interest in a JCM2000 Marshall.

If they can't do the deal in person or send you their amp first, you're going to get burned.

I know I love my 2000, After you get used to what settings you like by tweaking on the knobs, it's pure tone heaven to me!
