please hurry, what wattage do you use for resistors in guitar electronics?!

I've been using 1/4W resistors in my wah mods, they work fine.

guitar amps use mostly 1/2 watt

you can sometimes get a lower noise floor with larger resistors. and wattage for resistors is dependent on the current being passed and at what voltage. there several ohms law calculators. with guitar signal levels it isnt really a concern. you cuold get away with an 1/8w resistor. probably be noisy, though.

what lastwinj said. wattage rating of resistors refer to maximum power load; any kind will do for a guitar because of the very weak signal.

apart from the noise factor (which i've never heard of) the only other discriminating factor is physical size...

actually, i was referring to both, i used 1/4 watt resistors for what i was doing, worked great

so, i'f i had the choice between using a 1/2 watt and a 1/4 watt resistor, a 1/2 watt would be better because of noise issues?

1/4 watt is fine,it's also smaller and easier to deal with...At such low voltages and wattages,you aren't gaining anything...If all you have is 1/2 watt,by all means use it....The noise and wattage issues come into play "moreso" when you're dealing with higher voltage and wattage like inside an amp...I like 1% metal films for most everything,but the Radio Shack carbon films are fine for your needs also..
