Wondering if they're worth it. They're asking 125 British pounds for it. It has two put together slanted single coils at the bridge and two single coils.

Would the hardware be the same as Fender's as far as dimensions go? I'd like to get a new pickguard for it. Maybe a new neck someday. It's way cheaper than a MIM strat and I checked the neck, the frets were nice. No sharp ends or the likes. I haven't played it though.

Sounds like a good deal to me, those USA made Peaveys are very decent guitars imo.:)
No idea about the compatibility with Fender parts though, sorry.

That's around 250USD for you Americans. I'll go and try it sometimes soon it seems.

I finally tracked down my old Predator Strat. I bought it new in '92 for about $200 CDN. I had no idea until last week that they were made in the US. It sounds better than I remember when unplugged. Plugged in is a different story, as the single coils in it are garbage & buzz way too much. This one just may end up being my next project.

I think artietoo uses them, you could try PMing him if he doesn't see this thread first

Yeah if I got it, it'd be for a full setup (by yours truly), maybe new nut if it's too high (yours truly), new pickguard and electronics (guess who!). Total cost should be way under £200/400USD.

I just started a thread about this exact same thing over at the Peavey forum last night. The Strat-style Predators are always available for a good price on eBay and I'm thinking about checking one out. One of my only complaints about Peavey is that they tend to put the same name on completely different guitars. My Predator is nothing like the one you're talking about:

Predator

(Thats not my actual guitar, but its identical. Mine has the hybrids in it.)

The comments over at the Peavey forum are what you'ld expect. They generally need electronics and pups replaced. Tuners and a fret dressing help also, although, my MIA Peavey's have outstanding fret work. (And tuners.)

Thanks Artie! I'll try it I guess. I'll see when I can go over there next.

I've bought two in the past year and a half - one for myself and one for my brother. They're both excellent guitars and really only NEEDED new tuners, though I replaced a most of the electronics on both. Their single coils are decent, but they're a little sluggish. The bridge single makes a great neck pup, IMO.

FWIW, I bought one for $60 and the other for $85, though for one in good shape I could see $100-125 (I think $125 or $150 is book value for near mint). Factor in the added price of a new one for being sold overseas and that they're probably much rarer over there, $250 probably isn't a bad price if it's in good shape.

I'd expect either either of them (after my upgrades) to hold their own against any non-CS MIA Fender.
