I never find deals like this on craigslist. I just picked up this used white Gibson Flying V for just a few more dollars than the used SG MM I sent back to musicians friend.

More to come

You're lucky to have a hardshell case for that thing. Be very careful with it, it's easy to get those wings dinged up.

How do I get the wording under my forum name to say "GibsonFlyingVologist"?

very cool! I want one!!! Great deals to be had out there, I just have no buying clout these days.. Congrats! I want a white v or explorer so I can put a purple mirror guard/truss cover on... OH YEAH BABY!!

I just got done changing the strings and doing a quick set up on it. It plays and sounds awesome.

Update

I just played/tested the V again after letting it sit after the set up. The guitar took the set up adjustments really well so the only thing it needs now is a nut replacement. (But every Gibson I’ve played in at least the last 5 years has needed one.) I got this guitar for way cheap so I’m not going to complain one bit.

I can’t believe how lucky I got with it. It had the original strings that it came with from the factory on it. It also has no dents, nicks or dings anywhere on it. It does have a little buckle rash on the back but it is not very deep and doesn’t break the finish.

I forgot how much I like the 500T through my 6505+ so I’m keeping it in the guitar. I’m also breaking three of my own rules with this guitar.

1) I only roll with a bridge pickup. All my other V’s are single pickup configurations. (I’m leaving the neck pickup in this guitar.)

2) I don’t ever own more than 2 guitars at a time. IMHO guitars are tools not objects to collect. (To date I have 4 Gibson V’s I've bought two more in the last two weeks)

3) I only buy Gibsons with the faded finish. (The price on this one was too good to pass up.)

As far as changing anything out the only plan I have other than the nut replacement is a black pickguard. But that is still up in the air as of right now.

Screw rule number 2! You can NEVER have too many Flying Vs! ;)

Congrats on the great score!
