Using correct Impedence when switching power modes?

I have marshall amp with pentode and triode switch, 16 and 8 ohms selection switch. From what I have read triode halves the wattage output. One user on the forum said that is also halves the impedence used.

An example would be in triode, on the 16 ohm setting the impedance would be 8 ohms instead of, 16 ohms on pentode.

With Marshalls and Mesas the switching is generally done internally when flicking "Triode /pentode or "Hi-power/Lo-Power" switches... Usually no "uuser brain recalibration" is necessary ;)

Oh, so you mean that the impedances stay the same and only difference if the power output.
