I have marshall amp with pentode and triode switch, 16 and 8 ohms selection switch. From what I have read triode halves the wattage output. One user on the forum said that is also halves the impedence used.
An example would be in triode, on the 16 ohm setting the impedance would be 8 ohms instead of, 16 ohms on pentode.
