Re: using push/pull pots with 1 humbucker
Ok, first of all, I hope you don't think that I'm talking down to you here, its just that a lot of folks sometimes don't understand this, and I wanted to make sure that anyone could see how this is done.
Anytime you want to split a humbucker, using a push/pull pot, you always have four choices:
1. Humbucker when down - pull, to split to the stud coil.
2. Humbucker when down - pull, to split to the adjustable coil.
3. Split to the adjustable coil - pull for humbucker.
4. Split to the stud coil - pull for humbucker.
To me, personally, 1 or 2 would be the "normal" choice.
So, in this first diagram, everthing is connected except the final connection. You have a choice of connecting either point
A or point
B to either the red or the green arrow:
This diagram shows, (with the hand drawn blue line),
humbucker down - pull for stud
This diagram shows,
humbucker down - pull for adjustable
This diagram shows,
Stud coil down - pull for humbucker
This diagram shows,
Adjustable coil down - pull for humbucker
Hope this helps, more than confuse.
