van halen and EMG?

Re: van halen and EMG?

He played a headless Steinberger "paddle" for a while during the 5150 era that had EMG's in it. Don't know which models though.

Re: van halen and EMG?

Saw that show twice! Get up was probably done with that...

Re: van halen and EMG?

You're talking about Live without a net?

Get Up, Summer Nights, part of Ain't Talkin Bout Love (He broke a string)...hmm...I think that's it.

Re: van halen and EMG?

summernights was recorded with his steinberger.
from "mike's guitar site"
STEINBERGERS
Ed is a big fan of the Steinberger TransTrem (which unlike standard trems raises and lowers all the strings in pitch and can be locked in various keys)
He had thought of endorsing Steinberger guitars before Music Man but wasn't keen on the active EMG pickups and the synthetic body and neck materials. He has had standard guitars spoecially fitted with TransTrems as shown below

I know of another site with more info i just forget what it's called at this moment.

Yup, I read somewhere it was a MM Axis-like guitar with a TransTrem that was actually built by Ed Roman for EVH. It had DiMarzio pickups like the Music Man.
