Van Halen cover- Panama

Re: Van Halen cover- Panama

You have some good lead skills...but I find your rhythm rather....lacking...not fluid enough. I don't know...something about the rhythm just sounded off...

Yeah I agree with this. The solo was superb though.

I understand, i was the opposite, i spent my first years trying to learn solo techniques and that kind of stuff, and THEN i began to learn some rhthym stuff, thats why im still a noob in rhthym playing

Thanks for all the comments dudes

different stuff for different peoples i guess. groove is just something you have one day. its not like with leads in my opinion. its like, with solos i can play this solo at 116BPM. the next day i can play it at 118 BPM. but with rhythm, its like its there.

the thing that helped me the most with rhythm is playing with other guys, especially a drummer. when i joined a band my playing improved alot, and its fun watching every progress in different ways. rhythms not something you can learn from a book. i learned my chops from playing with bands of all styles, jazz band in school, orchestra, and just by filling up my own space. my funk chops got better when i decided that i had to play on every second of a solo, not just playing notes:18:
