VHolic love that man. Great playing indeed! Seems you prefer the 59 then the JB I notice.
I noticed this as well, one question for you, have you ever tried the pearly gates plus pickup. its an alnico 5 pearly gates pickup instead of the alnico 2 standard pearly gates. the pearly plus is also a tad hotter and realy chirps and squeels nicely but is steel vintage tone. thru a 4/12 vintage 30 cab it sounds very nice or 2 2/12 cabs vintage 30's. with those marshals and 5150 amp you could really light up the place-its just a 59 with a little more output and little brighter tone. just a thought, you already sound good now. :beerchug:

I usually don't come around here much 'cause I feel that if I'm not posting clips, I have no business commenting...until I read this!

I was a huge VH fan back with their 1st 5 or 6 albums, but not so much in the later revolving door frontman years....I, for one, enjoy the HELL out of VHolics clips. He nails each song & it's obvious that he's having a damn good time, which is the embodiment of this Forum.

With that said, look at the title of the thread.....if you despise VH so much, why even give it a listen? And once ya' did...take it for what it's worth & let it go. Was all the bashing here really necessary at all? It's the guys thread & others really enjoyed it.....

Sorry VHolic....I enjoy(ed) your clips!!! :beerchug:
Thanks bro!

I never used a Pearly Gates PU. One of these days i'll have to try one out. Looks like it might sound great!

Hey Mike. Thanks for asking. Yeah all is good. I've been trying to take a little brake from the computer and get out in the summer weather more often. Do a little traveling etc. My eyes start to bulge if i stare at this thing for too long  LOL. I'll have to try and wip up another clip soon.

Hey VH. Damn nice playing there. Eddie's style & tone you've got plenty of!

What do you think of "I'm the One" off of the first album, or "Girl Gone Bad" off of 1984?

Have you nailed those also? Have clips?

Thanks Budweiser. Oh man, i love those two songs. I never learned them on guitar though. I think i might know a few small parts here and there, you know just from doodling around. Guess i gotta try and learn some new stuff. :D

Re: VH (Feel your love Tonight) "sound clip" playing along with CD

holy crap man that is exact or at least as close as one can get to the tone!
i would love to hear you use a air zone or better yet the EVH B1 through your rig and your hands:)
I just got the EVH bug recently and have been enjoying coping his older stuff
his stuff is a lot of fun to play whereas some other guys stuff is so technical it is BORING,endless running of scales and such
eddie had some real style as well as great tone.
keep you the great work VHOHOLIC:smokin:
BTW are you still favoring the 59?

Re: VH (Feel your love Tonight) "sound clip" playing along with CD

VHoholic hasnt posted in nearly a year

Wow this is an old thread. Thanks roadstar! Still using the 59. :)

Re: VH (Feel your love Tonight) "sound clip" playing along with CD

So what's your main rig for VH stuff now, VHoholic? Sounds fantastic!

Re: VH (Feel your love Tonight) "sound clip" playing along with CD

-I checked out feel your love tonight and the other clips.
Sounded like you were Eddie -it was too cool.
Your rig actually sounded a bit better than the record I thought.
You are a true tone connoisseur.

I also noticed that the 59 (lower output) sounded better to my ears than
the JB (higher output).

This confirms my growing suspicions that lower output is where it's at .

Also,the marshalls sounded killer too.

Ah , your back. I stole your avatar while thinking you`d never return. I still listen to those VH clips from time to time and they`re awesome.

What's the "Frankenontubeschall"?
:D That's my one tube wonder lol. I just yanked 3 tubes out of my plexi reissue to lower the volume. Till this day it still baffles me how the thing even powered up lol.

I guess I'm wondering about the guitar(s) you're using, VHoholic.
I use one of those musicyo.com Kramer Strikers, a mid 80's Ibanez Roadstar II, and an 81 Ibanez Artist.
