Victoria amps

I've never played through one of these until today. Stumbled across one at Guitar Center actually....Strat through an MXR Dynacomp/Distortion III into a 5112, & holy ****. I never could've imagined a one-knob amp could sound so good. Who owns one of these beasts?

Re: Victoria amps

I'll tell ya what...if you unplugg the Dyna Comp and the Distortion III it'll sound even better!!!

Thats Victoria's narrow panel tweed Champ except with a single 12 (the original tweed champs came with an 8). Killer amps for sure...now you know whay Im always screaming tweed this and tweed that!

Yeah dude I guess I should always just listen to Eric Johnson in matters of tone, as his sentiments about one-knobbed amps.... but i can't deal with a fender-style amp with a single-coiled strat with no comp....

I've had a Double Deluxe (tweed deluxe uprated to 36w with 2x12s) for a year now, and it's a special amp. I tried several Vics (40w twin, tremolux, bassman) and fell in love with the tweed deluxe. Went to soundcheck and it just couldn't push enough volume or clean, but I liked it so much I ordered it's bigger brother.

Mark Baier makes a superb product, and is in my opinion one of the very best amp builders alive. Can't wait to get back down to the NZ dealer and try a Regal and a Victorilux. As it stands, an amp dealer friend just took a Vic 1x12 champ as a trade, so I'll be giving that a thrashing this week...
