Vintage Pedal question; Robbo Content

Re: Vintage Pedal question; Robbo Content

I own a 1977 Colorsound Fuzz Wah..... I know it's a 77 as it has a date stamp inside it. It's kind of cool as when you push the toe down all the way it turns on/off a preset fuzz sound.... push the heel all the way down it turns the wah on/off. It is kind of cool sounding! The main trouble with it is when it's off it really robs a lot of signal and it is noisey as hell... I stick to my new Dunlop Crybaby for my rig... I got the Fuzzwah for free when i bought my 1965 Deluxe amp for $300 a few summers ago... I see in a book at this pedal is worth $300 on the vintage market.

I read in an UK mag a review of my FuzzWah.... IT was part of a Bowie special on his guitarist... His Guitarist used these Fuzz Wahs a lot. The reviewer in teh mag said that he has bought a lot of these Fuzz Wahs over the years and said that about every 4th one is a good one and the rest are garbage.

I don't have a favourite between Scott & Robbo. The stuff they did together is so great. Their styles and signature tones were the perfect complement to each other. Scott really improved his technique in the later Lizzy years, but he also lost some of his individuality when he was playing catch-up with Moore & Sykes. IMHO of course. Trying to play catch-up with Phil's drug consumption probably didn't help either.
YUP.......definitely a fine compliment to each other:bigok:

Hmmmmm, let me see :scratchch....... His sister married Supertramp drummer Bob C Benberg. Scott came from California to London to audition for Supertramp (probably thinking it was a done deal), but they decided to get a sax player instead of another guitarist. So Scott hung around in London playing in pub bands. The Lizzy audition came up and he hadn't even heard of them, but he went along anyway (and thought he did really badly). The rest is history. :)

:giggle:

SIMON HAS GOT IT GOIN ONNNNNnnnnnn! :laugh2:
