Hi, Y'all.
I've been a Duncan guy since these two pickups changed my life back in the 80's. I just pulled these from my 1975 SG Standard, where they have lived since new. I know the Seymourizer II was installed in the mid-80's, and the DDJ was installed in the late 80's / early 90's.

I'm looking to sell these and need some advice on current value.

Both pickups are 4-conductor+ground wire.
Both pickups were born with no covers on them.
The Seymourizer II has no logo stamp on the base plate and no sticker on the bobbin cover. Just the sticker on the under side.
The DDJ has a stamped base plate, no bobbin cover logo, and the DDJ sticker on the under side. Apparently the "J" indicates the pickup was wound by "MJ".
Both pickups still have the full-length cable leads.

As you can see, there is ZERO corrosion to the pole pieces and slugs. The bobbin tape is completely in tact and still gripping tightly. There is some pick wear to the plastic on the top of each, but hey, they're 30 years old.

I don't have a meter to test output, but here's what I know about how they sound.

Both are high output.
Both have a nice emphasis on the mid bite.
Both are very articulate and punchy in the low end.
Both are crisp and bright in the high end without being shrill or abrasive.

I play Les Pauls loaded with a JB / DD setup these days. On some recent recordings I pulled out the SG for some songs. Upon playback we immediately noticed more "presence" in the tone on the SG. The mids just cut through the mix perfectly. The same was noticed in recordings from some live shows.

I had used the stock Gibson pickups, followed by DiMarzios back in the late 70's / early 80's. I thought I had a pretty great sound. Then I got these pickups. They literally changed my sonic life. I've never used anything but Duncans since.

I can't find a ton of info on what these pickups are selling for and I figured, go to the experts. So, here I am. What can you tell me?

Thank you, so much, for any help.
Regards.

maybe check to see what they are selling for on ebay. for example, a set recently went for about $100

They aren't wine. They don't get better with age. They're simply worth what any used Duncan is worth. IMHO. :)

Well, I appreciate that, but there are always those who believe in the superiority of vintage products. A 58 Les Paul is still just a used Les Paul, yet somehow, people pay $300k for them. I definitely appreciate your input. Thank you.

I think if you were to find some hand-built pickups from the early 70s, there might be a good price for them. But pickups don't age quite like guitars...the price doesn't go up generally because it is old, and improvements over the years were generally good things.

I've picked up MJ wound pickups and had the opportunity to pick up a few name/sticker pickups for about $40-$50 each over the last year; there's not really a premium at this point except in the minds of certain people on ebay.
