I don't think it's a bad idea, but some redesigning might definitely be in order.
Basically, stop sticking strat parts on it.
It can be done nicely if you design it more around a violin's aesthetics than just putting the body shape of a violin on a superstrat. just like a violin, viola, cello or double bass, you gotta let the wood show itself off.

Actually, the Fender headstock is interesting on that design. I had never before realized how much a strat headstock looks like the profile of a violin scroll:
I also like the pointy bits. The Hohner and Ibanez designs should have kept that detail. Cool project!
