Virtual Rehearsal

[Diminished Triad]

Up through 2010 or 2011 there were no realistic options available to have band rehearsal with members in different locations. Most of the challenge involves the delay caused by internet transmission. Does anyone know of the latest software and ability available to have virtual rehearsal in the year 2016?

All I know is that a fellow is using Reaper's Ninjam feat keeping his band active while he's off working a continent away. I also know that I haven't tried it so I've no clue really.

those options seem cool, I was wondering about slow internet trying to jam but it seems there are workarounds nowdayz

Ejamming, Music Link (using Jamlink hardware) and possibly Reaper/Ninjam appear to be the best as of 2012. If anyone has personal knowledge of advancements or breakthroughs allowing for virtual rehearsals/jams please share your into and experiences.

There are more and more DAWs that are supporting remote session work these days. I've never done one, but am certainly curious about it.

I know this is really old hat but just jam out your material with a metronome and trade clips via email or dropbox is the way Ive always done it and it works
