Virtus 36 fret - Paint and Clear

Re: Virtus 36 fret - Paint and Clear

Hey,
Good work again. It looks like you have about an 18-20 radius. I got the impresion you preferred a flat neck from your other thread.

Thanks.
Yeah i do like them flattish. But i built this one first and it is 18''. Anything from 14'' up to flat is pretty ideal but i will play on any radius that i am presented with :lmao:..

That's not batik, that's tye dye.

How are you supposed to play the upper frets? Too small to fit fingers in it.

Yes it is, i purchased it you would think i would know. Its batik fabric made with wax and dye. Similar to this stuff. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Patchwork-Quilting-Fabric-Batik-Blue-Purple-Wash-Material-Cotton-FQ-New-/161404934448?pt=AU_Quilting&hash=item25947bd930

Yes of course it's hard to play that doesn't mean it cant be. And its not the first guitar like this washburn ec and hamer virtuoso are the same. The challenge of building something like this is just as great as what it is to play it.

Actually here is the exact product i used, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331084353500?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649Batik see see?

Sorry mate, if it's not printed or drawn manually with hands, it's not batik. But that is besides the point. By the way, how come all your finishes look lackluster, not bright, know what I mean? Is it only on my screen? The color seems faded.

I dont know maybe you're cross eyed? haha It could be that your mistaking a material finish for airbrush? Have you ever seen a floral jem or a paisley tele?

Anyway i think the colours are super vibrant. My customers seem to be happy too.

I love when people are Unable to say anything positive.

This is dull too?

The colours in this one are so dull i think they might ask for a refund.

This is from the ebay add, Maybe next time take a look before you comment. :smack:

''All hand dyed Batik fabrics have inconsistencies and variations in colour caused by the manufacturing process, which add to their unique beauty and charm''

Re: Virtus 36 fret - Paint and Clear

I never thought of that.

WHats happening with your neck through project?

On hold at the moment as I am at college, however I do have a Warmoth Velocity here that I just ordered the final parts for. I also have a precision guitar kits 59 Les paul with the carved heel and tummy cut en route in the next week or so

Cool guitar, but what I'm really intrigued by is your miter saw stand! :bigthumb:
