I'm surprised nobody caught the "Limited to 250 guitars worldwide part.
These guitars were obviously intended for the superfans and era-collectors who would bank on the guitar gaining some kind of collector's piece value.
As for the guitar itself. Meh. If I wanted those specs it would have been easy enough to get one made for less than half...
"Richlite" FB, a set of super distortions, a sure to be botched bookmatch top in depressing grey.... but hey, a multipiece neck with a "70's C" instead of whatever the heck Soviet acoustic guitar-inspired brick shape profile is Gibson's current flavor of the week
All for JUST $5,999
...where do I sign up??? Lol
PS is it just me or are they competing with a better equipped LTD midrange EC dimarzio model with a nicer top for roughly 10x less dough??
Viv Campbell? Honestly, I miss that guy... it's been decades.
I miss RJD as well...
It just looks like another £1500 guitar with a £5000 price tag.
No doubt it is very nice but also rather overpriced.
I just cant see Gibson recovering for quite some time if they consistently produce too many overpriced high end items such as this.
Does he *have* 250 superfans?
The setup of that guitar does scratch an itch for me. I would love to have a Lester with SDs. The price is a bit beyond what I would want to pay for a Les Paul...

Richlite is paper in epoxy cut in sheets. It works fine for a fingerboard, or shelving, or countertops. It doesn't work for me on a $5k guitar, though. They couldn't include ebony? Or go with something that is reclaimed wood with a story (beer barrels, shipwreck, etc). I think for $5k you should get real materials.
