What zebra looking pickups is Vivan Campbell currently using on his Dio Les Paul in Last in line.

I think I mentioned in another thread that he told me he's using a set of calibrated Seymour Duncan '59s in that LP. MJ said he got them from her.

He also said he's pretty much going straight into the amp with that band. I think he may be using ENGLs.

I was also very curious about those zebra pickups as well. All the recent live clips sounded great. On his Facebook page Vivian confirmed they are a matched set of 59s. I am now definitely considering a 59 set for my Epi Les Paul.

Yep. I think that's the one.

When we talked in March, we did go through a bit of his gear to a small degree. He did confirm it has the X2N when he recorded the first Dio and that it has been through a # of pickups over the years.

I thought he might have meant just an off-the-shelf set of 59s, but he clarified they were not. When I followed with MJ, she confirmed they were CS.

Vivian's neck pickup sounds incredible on this Last In Line album.

Unbelievable, if that is a 59. If it is a CS, I wonder if it is wound a little hotter or something? It just has almost a Jazz type quality to it.
