Re: VooDoo amps

Well damn..I thought you guys were miracle workers

Miracle workers is not a title or tag that we attached to ourselves (ha, ha), seriously though, we try to understand what each person is going for but we're definitely not miracle workers. To make the Mesa into a Marshall would require gutting the amp and rebuilding it, which is cost prohibitive for a customer (in our opinion).

Nah. I love the tone of the MESA as is. I would like to get that adjustable bias put in though so I could run some EL-34s to make it sound a bit more "british" when the power tubes start to break up, but not looking to turn it into a Marshall.

We can certainly convert the amp over to adjustable bias for you, that's not a problem at all and we do it all the time.

Basically what you guys do with the Rectifiers (based on your clips) is what I'm looking at...a bit less fizzy on top although truthfully the F series are not 1/10 as fizzy as a Recto, at least to my ears.

This is true and we can certainly do a custom mod based on what you are looking for. Just give us a call at the shop and ask to speak with either Anthony or myself. We can both answer any questions you have, determine what it is you are looking for, what we need to do on our end for you and give you a price quote.

Wasn't seriously considering an FX loop, but good to know as I had thot of it.

FX-Loops in Marshall plexi's never sound right and they alter the tone of the amp in a way that is not so desireable (just our opinion--ha, ha).

I'd prolly just go with your standard mod if I end up modding it instead of the MESA.

Not a problem at all my good sir, I hope all is well!!!
